Helsingborg defeat Syrianska

Helsingborg - Helsingborgs IF sent Syrianska FC to their third defeat of the 2011 season, Rasmus Jönsson doing the damage 35 min through the second half as they extended their unbeaten run to four matches.

It was going to take something special to decide this highly tactical affair at the Olympia, and the Helsingborg striker finished off a clinical move in the 82nd minute to put his team on top of the Allsvenskan table ahead of Monday's matches.

Melkemichel named Ivan Ristic in the starting lineup for the first time this season, with Touma slotting in at right midfield alongside Barsom, Elia and Saleh as Syrianska FC changed formation after Sunday's home loss to BK Häcken.
His Helsingborgs IF counterpart Conny Karlsson made one change to the team that won 2-1 to IFK Göteborg in midweek, bringing in Mattias Lindström.

Helsingborgs IF made a lively start and Erik Sundin was almost served free in the tenth minute with Miller. Syrianska FC had their first shot on target in 22nd minute and it came from Ijehs right foot. Per Hansson in the Helsingborg goal saved it. Helsingborg had taken the command during the whole first half especially the first twenty minutes. Helsingborgs tactics was quite clear. Try to pressure Syrianska into a mistake. A mistake would fortunatley lead to a goal and a goal would break down the Syrianska confidence. Melkemichel also did his homework and read the tactics well with a compact defence not letting anything or anyone past it.
In the first half Helsingborg had a lot of ball possession without coming to any clear chances. Syrianska FC did not have much forward but the defence did their job and everyone in the team helped each other in through every battle on the field.

Both coaches stuck with their starting XIs after the restart and the match remained tactical with Syrianska playing compact football and Helsingborgs IF playing more attacking football. Helsingborg's best chance of the secod half fell to Sundin with a long range shot. The Swedish midfielder fired a right-footed shot on target but Miller said no with a punched save. Another good chance for Helsingborg was when Rasmus Jönsson came down the left flank and tried to send a cross. Miller went out to grab the ball but with the sun in his eyes he droped the ball in front of goal. Fortunately but could fast repair his mistake and grab the ball. This time holding on to it.

A tight game called for changes, spotting his team under pressure, Melkemichel brought off Saleh and Ahmed, replacing them with Durmaz and Perreira who offered the Nerazzurri more thrust in midfield.

After a fast taken corner with some Syrianska players desperatly trying to clear the ball. The ball lands just in front of
goal and Rasmus Jönsson can easily send it past Miller and Helsingborgs IF can collect all three points and win their forth game in a row. All of these occured in the 82nd minute. Feels a bit pity because Syrianska FC was very close to grab a point.
