Djurgårdens IF 3-0 Syrianska FC: Djurgården won the derby

STOCKHOLM/SOLNA – Djurgårdens IF won the first Derby thanks to a brace from Youssef (13), Toivio plt (70), Gustafsson (74), thus minimizing the gap to Syrianska to one point only.

This was Syrianska FC coach Melkemichels first consecutive derby in a big arena as Råsunda, and the first as a red-and-yellow for Touma and Barsom. Djurgårdens IF v Syrianska FC was the big match but it was more than just a six-pointer at the bottom of the table: this fixture is the meeting of many emotions. 8,100 people crammed into the Råsunda. 

Barsom was ruled out of the game through suspension so Melkemichel went for a central defensive pairing of Bååth and Elia, and played Durmaz and Demir in the full-back berths. Felic spearheaded the attack with Zatara, Touma and Saleh in support.

Syrianskas first real chance came in the 8th minute: Felic played in Touma, who squeezed his way through two defenders and poked a shot towards goal, forcing Touray to make a great reflex save, but unfortunately this evening the emotions were greater for Djurgårdens fans - and with Youssefs strike after just 13 minutes, the emotions couldn't have come much earlier.

It gave Syrianska an uphill task, though the Suryoye relentlessly sought an equaliser and came ever so close to finding one before half time through Rabi Elia. The Suryoye were reduced to ten men in the 65th minute, when Omar Jawo was sent off for a last-man foul on Youssef, and it got worse as Toivo put Djurgården two up after 70 minutes. Syrianska FC tried, against the odds, to get back into the game but inevitably left themselves exposed. Gustafsson made it 3-0 just outside the penalty box.

After 5 minutes of stoppage time, Rizzoli blew an end to the derby, with the honours going to the Djurgården-fans this time.
