Hammarby IF 0-0 Syrianska FC

Stockholm - Syrianska FC were held 0-0 as Hammarby IF gave Melkemichel's side a hard game at Söderstadion.

It wasn’t an entertaining encounter, but it's points that count and the Suryoye, who move four points clear of Sundsvall at the second place, have now a straight place to Allsvenskan, with two games left. This has to be regarded as a valuable away result.

Bajen's men made a strong start in front of their vociferous home fans and Simon Helg fired a warning in the 10th minute. Skenderovic made a clearance from an inswinging cross and the Bosnian latched onto the loose ball before cannoning his long-range effort. Ijeh chested down the rebound but couldn't get a close-range shot in as the Bajen defenders timed his challenge perfectly.

Simon Helg rifled just outside the right post as Dwayne Miller ran out and narrowed the angle well to thwart Helg as Bajen created plenty of first-half chances. Syrianska FC went close on the half-hour when Dennis Velic's well-taken header was saved by Hammarby IF on the goal line.

Syrianska FC threatened Hammarby's goal in an attacking start to the second half, but still didn’t have any really clear chances until Imad Zatara was brought in and headed just over the crossbar after a freekick. The same Zatara was perfectly served by Dinko Felic. The Bajen keeper ran out, Zatara was first to the ball and touched it before the keeper. The referee pointed at the penalty spot but after speaking with his colleague, the linesman, the referee changed his decision and gave Imad Zatara the yellow card instead of a penalty.

Syrianska FC dominated the remainder of the game in terms of chances and were left ruing a series of misses. The Suryoye combined well with as Massi produced two good chances in the closing stages, but his finishing was left wanting as both efforts flew wide.

The game ended 0-0 with two games left of this season as Syrianska FC has a two weeks until next game against Jönköpings Södra.
