A goalles draw at Södertälje Fotbollsarena

SÖDERTÄLJE - There was no repeat of the last two games win as Halmstad BK held Syrianska FC to their second 0-0 draw in eleven Allsvenskan games.

The Suryoye dominated in terms of clear chances and total number of scoring opportunities, but were made to settle for a point by Josep Clotet Ruiz's side.

The early chances of the opener were Halmstads. Marcus Olsson had a close-range shot saved by Frealdssons right poster. Syrianska almost went punished by the passive defence. This could have been a nightmare for the Suryoye but fortunately the ball hit the post and kept the visitors on the same level.

Syrianska stepped up the tempo on the quarter hour and Touma saw his crisp shot blocked by Kalle Johnsson in the Halmstad goal, before Jawo headed a long-range effort over the bar. Saleh was served free but his drive, narrowly went over the bar. An uncharacteristic miss in front of goal by Saleh.

Halmstad were pinned back for much of the first half as Syrianska FC created plenty of chances coming forward. The most dangorous player for the visitors was spelled as Rául Ruiz. The Spanish player ran past two-three Syrianska players and made it look very easy.

Syrianska FC went closer to a 1-0 lead after the restart. This time it was Sharbel Touma who was served free. Did everything correct but his shot hit Johnsson in the middle of the face and the Halmstad keeper manage in a strange way prevent the ball from sailing into the net. Melkemichel's side settled back into their rhythm and produced a spell of intense pressure which was soaked up by Halmstad's watertight defence, with the central pairing making precise interventions to deny Felic and Ijeh.

On a night in which he made few friends, referee needlessly yellow-carded Barsom for draging out Rául Ruiz from the pitch. The decision sparked the stands. The atmosphere of anger was perhaps felt by Syrianska's players, who failed to capitalise on their numerical superiority in ball possession and Frealdsson only had two real saves to make in the second half.

Next game will be played away on the 20th June against Djurgårdens IF.
