SÖDERTÄLJE - Assyriska FF beat Syrianska FC 2-0 in Sunday's derby at Södertälje Fotbollsarena, thanks to goals in each half from Marklund and Haddad. A string of saves by Bahne in a Syrianska FC-dominated first half denied Ijeh from close range shots and long-range free kicks, and Massi, who went close to scoring with a crisp shot from inside the box on 30 minutes. But just 10 min before Göran Marklund outjumped Robert Massi to an inswinging corner and headed home to put the hometeam in front from their first attempt on goal. Haddad celebrated his 8th goal of the season by increasing Assyriska's lead in the 88th minute of an evenly-balanced second half with a close-range shot after being served by Besara. Syrianska's best chance of equalise fell to the Suryoyo defender Suleyman, who rattled the crossbar and hit the post minutes before Haddads goal. Syrianska FC will meet IK Brage next Sunday and will hopefully demand revenge and take a step closer to Allsvenskan. Text: Emanuel Yacoub Photo: Richard Ström
