SÖDERTÄLJE- Peter Ijeh and Jakob Orlov scored for each side in Södertälje fotbollsarena with a gritty 1-1 draw against Gefle IF in our first home game of the 2011 Allsvenskan championship. Melkemichel rested Johan Arneng after a small injury against Bromma pojkarna during the midweek. The Syrianska FC coach moved Ahmed Özdemirok to left-back and starting Saleh, Barsom, Elia and Zatara behind Touma in midfield. Barsom had been struggling with a knee knock from an earlier training session but the Suryoyo midfielder choose to play the game.
The Suryoye were quick off the blocks and Peter Ijeh put us in front in the third minute, lashing home in an unmarked position after a loose clearance by the Gefle defence, after a corner kick by Saleh. Peter Ijeh became a historical scorer for Syrianska FC as it was the first goal the Suryoye scored in Allsvenskan. The goal was just what the Suryoye needed. The tense that had been built up before the game where a bit lose now. The Suryoye were moving forward with caution and everything was directed by Barsom in midfield. Saleh made some good runs and had a fine effort sailed just over Hugossons crossbar, in the Gefle goal. Gefle did not have much to put against the Suryoye during the first half except of one shot on goal when Miller tipped the ball to the corner. Just after the break Imad Zatara was injured after a battle with a Gefle player. It did not look good for the Palestinian player as he barely could walk off the pitch by himself. Melkemichel brought in Obie Etie instead to get some speed down the left flank. The visitors were back on level footing just past the hour mark when Jakob Orlov sneaked through the defence and was clear after a corner kick. The goal was quite similar to Syrianska FCs. Just five minutes before the goal, Peter Ijeh saw his effort hit the outside post. After the goal Gefle got more confidence and put some pressure on Syrianska FC. Even Gefle had a shot on the post and was very close to take the lead. Syrianska FC managed to solve the pressure from the visitors and the game ended 1-1. Emanuel Yacoub
